Artist Bio.....Levana LaBelle is a multidisciplinary artist based in Bellbrae, Victoria who works within the liminal spaces found in nature. LaBelle reflects upon our ancestral connection to the mystical elements of nature through ritual, which is expressed within her works in the form of intuitive movement; much like a dance as well as a sacred practice. Inspired by the romanticist movement, LaBelle uses the juxtaposition between light and dark to reflect this liminality, which so often describes the unseen forces of nature. Within her works is a tactility and emotional resonance that requires the viewer to be immersed within the landscapes LaBelle conjures. This combined with her mindful use of earthly elements and natural processes within her paintings, compels us to connect with nature’s sentience through a conscious relationship with the land.
