Artist Bio....."I retired from Melbourne to Apollo Bay in 2020, and was able to really pursue my interests in the natural world, birdwatching, gardening, Landcare activities and photography. I've always taken a lot of bird and flower photographs, and seeing my friend Jo Dunsmuir painting one day made me think I should try painting from my photographs. I am really loving his new creative outlet and acrylics are suiting me well as I develop my skills.
I am trying everything from landscapes to portraits of my grandchildren, as well as birds and flowers, and have exhibited in Art Shows and Shelter Cafe in Apollo Bay with good sales.
Growing up, I had a mum who was a botanical illustrator and a sister who was a talented creative artist - I always felt slightly intimidated to try my hand at painting, but am so glad that I have.
I paint with acrylic paints on heavy duty paper and would be happy to paint someone's favourite bird or flower on request."
