Born January 6 th , 1962.
"I am what one may term as a late developer, having gone back to study what l had set out to
do back in 1979...ART....
I went to Warrnambool Tafe and did an Advanced Diploma of Fine Art in 2009/10/11. I won a solo exhibition at Scope Gallery as a result of that, and since then haven’t looked back.
Travel had also eluded me up to that point, and now a huge part of my subject matter relatesto my travelling experiences.
I love old things, belongings that have their own voice. I love nothing more than to feel closeto my composition even if it bears no real significance to me. Every nook and cranny has an
energy that l like to recreate with my own voice. I love using a strong colour palette and Gouache and Acrylic are my preferred mediums.
What is “Gouache” l hear some of you say? Gouache is a water-based paint that is similar to watercolour but more opaque. Its origin goes back more than 600 years but, in my experience, seems to be little known today. I love using it on black paper in my smaller works.
